TANYA'S LIT CLIT is a new play that brings the mythic into modernity. By exploding ancient myths about female bodies, the play lays bare the complexities of women’s health in modern medicine and explores the ways in which these myths still puncture our current reality.
&CRISEYDE uses the tenets of queer theory, live musical accompaniment, and performance art to wrestle with the 'post-modernism' of Chaucer’s original work.

Measure for Measure is set in a distant and somewhat alternative universe: a Renaissance-era Vienna where premarital sex is illegal.

By Anya Pearson
Made to Dance in Burning Buildings by Anya Pearson is a fusion of poetry, theatre, and violent and visceral contemporary dance.
It's about Ava, a young black woman, who is raped by her boyfriend's friends while he watches; she develops PTSD as a result. Metaphorically, she fractures into five different women who each represent a different facet of her personality (Romance, Despair, Madness, Perseverance, and Missing You). Poetically, these women narrate her journey through PTSD while she, her first love, and her abusers explore through dance the trauma and the events leading up to it.
Based on a true story, and inspired by the original choreopoem, Ntozake Shange's For Colored Girls, this play seeks to revolutionize the theatrical experience by combining poetry and breath-taking and gut wrenching contemporary dance to tell an all too familiar story in a brand new way.
Directed by Jamie M. Rea

Medusa, a movement theater piece, will run for four performances from January 12th-14th at HappyLucky No.1 in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
Creator and Director Sophie Amieva was struck by Ovid’s portrayal of Medusa as a young maiden turned into the monster we know as a result of being raped by Poseidon.
This piece, inspired by Medusa’s story, is about women and the stories of their bodies and pleasures. From Salome to Eve, how do we define a woman’s ascent to pleasure and orgasm? To be feminist, do we need to redefine sexuality as a whole? Today, can we look Medusa in the eyes?
Adapted from Shakespeare’s Hamlet by Tatiana Baccari
Edited by Wednesday Sue Derrico
Hamlet comes home from college to find her father dead. Claudia, a stone-butch lesbian and Hamlet’s aunt, seduces Gertrude, topples the patriarchy, and steals the throne with her bra-burning feminist followers. With the help of Horatio, her genderqueer best friend, Hamlet embarks on a quest to prove Claudia’s guilt and avenge her father’s murder. Hamlet becomes unhinged as she battles the waves of pressure from her royal family against questions of her own identity, sexuality and feminism. With tension between the queer millennials and second wave lesbians building, and a country rife with internal violence, what will become of Hamlet and Denmark’s new feminist ruling class?

*'LQQK, The Way I Look' is a Glam Electro Pop Concert about lost love, in all senses, that fights its way back from darkness. A new musical painting by José Rivera Jr., LQQK celebrates queer thought, physicality, form, and function.
With live visual art, sensorial athletic dance, and live vocal production, LQQK targets inauthentic digital content and the homogenization of the gay body, screaming 'be your damn self always you f@&%ot!" the way someone once yelled this very phrase at José of the rooftop pool on Fire Island.

Art Share L.A. is excited to announce the Los Angeles premiere of “of Alan” written by Shelby Brage and directed by Katie Oscar.
In this original performance work by writer/performer Shelby Brage [Experimental Bitch Presents], the audience is immersed within the turbulent world of mid-life schizophrenic sex offender Alan. Set in the dark corners of sunny LA, the characters and the audience find their conceptions of normalcy violently destabilized. Touching poignantly - and painfully - on dilemmas of mental health, incarceration, attachment, and familial love, this piece upends notions of sanity with moving flair.
